Social Sciences major @ Stanford | 200k + in Merit Scholarships | Debater + Poet
I set screen-time limits on my phone, proactively spent time with friends, and made sure to disconnect from the internet at least 20-30 minutes before sleeping.
I chose my long-time debate coach and my AP Language teacher, who could highlight my work as a writer. My suggestion is to be friendly to all teachers early on and find reasons to engage with them outside of class.
I started during the summer and used Google Sheets to find common themes across different prompts. I wrote core 200-300 word essays on central themes and then adapted them for specific school requirements.
The optional video introduction really isn't optional. I used CapCut to create an entertaining and polished video with quick cuts and varied intonation to ensure I stood out from thousands of other applicants.
